How to Confirm KCPE and KCSE Registration

For a student to sit for KCPE and KCSE examinations, they have to register with the Kenya National Examinations Board (KNEC). Registration of secondary and primary school students often takes place within the first three months of an academic year. The registration process is conducted by school head teachers and sub county education officers through the KNEC portal at the KNEC Portal. The examination center’s administrator enters the personal details of students and uploads their photographs.

The 2020 registration for KCPE and KCSE examination started on 2nd January 2020 and ended on January 15, 2020, and KNEC has not given deadline extension for the registration. The remaining thing now is for students to confirm whether they are registered for the national examinations.

Verification of candidate registration details for KCSE and KCPE 2020 will be opened from 18th February until 28th February 2020.

Students and parents can follow the following procedures to confirm or verify the candidate’s KCPE or KCSE registration status.

For confirmation of the KCSE 2020 results, candidates and parents are required to send a short text message (SMS) with their candidate’s index number followed by KCSE to 20076. But how do you verify KCPE index registration status?

To confirm your KCPE registration details, you send the KCPE index number followed by KCPE to the same confirmation number 20076, e.g. 33547117009 KCPE.

Note: Ensure you leave space between the index number and KCPE or KCSE before sending the message.

You will receive a text message with the registration details that you wish to confirm. Should you identify errors with your registration details following the confirmation, please contact your head teacher immediately.
