Jane Muthoni’s Comments Make Her Even More Guilty of Murdering Kiru Boys Principal Solomon Mwangi

Jane Muthoni

On Sunday, Citizen TV aired an investigative report on the murder of former Kiru Boys High School Principal Solomon Mwangi. In the investigation, Jane made herself look even guiltier.

In 2016, Jane Muthoni, a mother of three and principal of Icaciri Secondary School in Kiambu County hatched a plan to kill her husband’s mistress, a shopkeeper attendant at Kiriani.

Muthoni hired a team led by a man named Njiru, to kill the girl. But after 6 months of planning, the mission backfired because the girl lived in a busy public area.

They then turned their attention to the murder of Solomon Mwangi, the Chief Principal of Kiru Boys’ High School. This was a softer target since he was living with the chief mastermind, his wife, Jane Muthoni.

It is alleged that Muthoni drugged her husband and drove her into the forest where Joseph Njuguna and another man named Gikuyu helped her to kill the husband. They tied a rope around his neck and hanged him on a tree deep inside a forest.

His body was later discovered at Karakuta Coffee Farm in Juja, Kiambu County.

During the trial of the case, Judge Joel Ngugi said that Jane Muthoni hatched the brutal, chilling and cold-blooded plan of killing Mr. Solomon.

Muthoni paid the murderers a total of KSH 100,000 upfront but refused to pay the remaining amount of KSH300,000 as agreed.

When the deal turned sour, Njuguna decided to testify against Jane in Court. His narration was so clear and damning that the judge found Jane and the co-accused guilty of murder. Njiru disappeared never to be seen again, but Jane and Njuguna were jailed for 30 and 7 years respectively.

While in prison, Jane Muthoni was interviewed by Citizen TV to give her account of the story. Her comments made it clearer that she was guilty as judged, and netizens agree on that.

In the program called Jane and Solomon, aired on Citizen TV on Sunday 20, 2023, Jane said that she left her house at 1 AM on the night when her husband was murdered to buy milk. But why would she leave her husband alone in the house in the middle of the night just to go and buy milk outside Kiru Boys?

The comments she made caused a stir on social media, leaving more questions than answers.

However, Jane continued to plead her innocence in front of camera, claiming that she loved her husband too much to kill him. Therein lies the prove – you love your husband so much that she could not stand seeing him with a younger girl.

One critic on social media wrote: “Jane Muthoni says, ‘I loved him too much to kill him’. And she went to buy Milk at 1am leaving him in the house. Therein lies the reason why she killed him.”

Another twitter post read, “In this Jane and Solomon story, the woman is lying with a straight face, when everything is clear as day. Jane feels unwell in the middle of the night at 1AM. She decides to drive herself out of Kiru Boys High to seek medical attentions without Solomon.”

Solomon and his wisdom had many wives and concubines, and there had never been an issue; but one Jane Muthoni could not stand one mistress, an M-PESA attendant.
