The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has advertised over 8,914 teaching jobs for secondary and primary school. The recruitment exercise will take place in July and will help the government to reduce the gap of teachers in both secondary and primary school level. Replacement of Teachers Who Exited Service
The Teachers Service Commission is declaring 3,914 vacancies to replace teachers who exited service through natural attrition i.e 2,987 posts for primary schools and 927 posts for secondary schools. The teachers recruited will serve on Permanent and Pensionable terms of service.
Eligibility
To qualify for recruitment, a candidate should meet the following basic requirements:
- Be a Kenyan citizen;
- Must be a holder of a P1 certificate in the case of primary schools and a minimum of a diploma in education in the case of secondary schools;
- Must be a registered teacher with Teachers Service Commission.
Mode of Application
Interested and qualified candidates should submit their applications online through the Commission’s website, www.tsc.go.ke under ‘Careers’ or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke not later than 12th July, 2021.
Recruitment of New Secondary School Teachers
The Teachers Service Commission is declaring 5,000 teaching vacancies in secondary schools to support the government policy on 100 percent transition of learners from primary to secondary schools. The teachers recruited will serve on Permanent and Pensionable terms of service.
Interested and qualified candidates should submit their applications online through the Commission’s website, www.tsc.go.ke under ‘Careers’ or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke not later than 12th July, 2021.
Eligibility for Recruitment of New Secondary school Teachers
To qualify for the secondary school teaching vacancies in July 2021, a candidate should meet the following basic requirements:
- Be a Kenyan citizen;
- Must be a holder of at least a diploma in education;
- Must be a registered teacher with Teachers Service Commission
Eligibility for promotion and Deployment of Practicing Primary School Teachers
There are also 1000 promotions and deployment jobs for primary school teachers who will be promoted to teach in secondary schools. The criteria to be promoted are:
To qualify for promotion and deployment to secondary school, a candidate should meet the following basic requirements:
- Be a Kenyan citizen;
- Be a holder of a PI Certificate;
- Be a holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education with 2 teaching subjects;
- Must have attained at least C+ (Plus) mean grade at Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent and C+ (Plus) in the two teaching subjects or it’s equivalent;
- Must be serving under Teachers Service Commission;
Recruitment of New Primary School Teachers
TSC is also seeking to fill 1,000 teaching vacancies for primary schools.
To qualify for recruitment, a candidate should meet the following basic requirements:
- Be a Kenyan citizen;
- Must be a holder of a PI certificate;
- Must be a registered teacher with the Teachers Service Commission.
Successful candidates will be posted to serve in any part of the country and not necessarily in the county where they were recruited.
