School Reopening Dates Announced

CS Magoha visits Mawego Technical Training Institute in Homabay

Education CS George Magoha has announced school reopening dates for Grade 4, Class 8 and Form 4 learners.

Magoha had earlier hinted that schools would reopen gradually, with those who are expected to sit for national examinations to begin.

Today, Prof Magoha has let the cat out of the bag. He announced earlier today that Grade 4, Class 8 and Form 4 students should report back to school on October 12, 2020. In its twitter handle, Education Ministry wrote, “Education CS George Magoha has announced the reopening of schools for Grade 4, Class 8 and Form Four learners on Monday, 12th. October, 2020.”

Citizen TV has also aired the News, and more media reports will be soon be released on the same.

Education CS Prof Magoha went ahead to say that KCPE will be done between March 22 and March 24, 2021. On the other hand, Form 4 candidates will sit for KCSE between March 25 and April 16, 2021.

The school reopening dates coincide with the final dates of TSC massive recruitment of teachers, which began on September 1. Teacher interviews have already started in some schools, and final recruits will be under TSC payrolls as from October 12, 2020, when schools reopen.
